Excellent boots

"I will start this with the caveat that the four star rating is me being very picky. I bought the Collin ostrich leg boots without being able to find many independent reviews, but I took a chance on a brand Id never heard of because tobacco brown, traditional round toe ostrich leg boots are getting rare and I wanted something very specific. The boots arrived while I was at work so after I got settled in I opened the box. First impression: they're gorgeous. Closer inspection revealed that they appear to be traditional in construction and very well made. They are a little redder than the photo suggests, but very handsomely finished. Here's where I'm going to explain the four star review. These boots are, at the time of this review, a little over $450. 00. I expect a lot at that price, exotic skin or not. I own fully custom exotics that weren't significantly more expensive. The large "scales" on the right boot aren't straight down the vamp. I get it, the skin has to be stretched around the last and that makes centering the hide difficult. . . but every pair of python boots, down to cheaper brands manage to get the large scales straight. While I consider it a flaw, I also consider it acceptable because I dont want to send boots back and forth over something minor. If I was shopping in person, however, I would not purchase a boot with this flaw if a better example was available. The only other issue I see, and again this is petty, is the unfinished inner shaft seam. Folks have accepted rough seams so long its almost expected. As I've read a few times, the shaft leather is a little on the thin side, but considering this is what I'd consider a "dress" boot, I don’t expect 2mm inner and outer leathers on the shaft. Tl;dr It's a good looking boot that is handmade. Dont expect machine precision and temper expectations to its intended use."

A great boot

"The quality and style of boot are exceptional. However I usually fit a standard US -10.5 D sizing, with this boot it is really narrow and needs stretching to be comfortable, which is what a will be doing! Next time I might try a wider fit straight up. I am still happy with the purchase though!"
